Start with evidence
Collect projects, responsibilities, tools used, and results you can substantiate. Keep employer-confidential details out of prompts. Identify volunteer, coursework, and practice projects accurately.
Map the role's requirements
Separate required capabilities from preferred tools. For each relevant requirement, select an example showing what you did and how it was checked. Do not add a skill merely because it appears in a listing.
Improve a bullet without inventing impact
Use the structure: task, your action, verified result. If you did not measure a numerical outcome, describe a concrete artifact or check instead. Ask a resume prompt to flag missing evidence rather than supply plausible metrics.
Review the exported document
Check names, dates, contact information, section order, page breaks, and selectable text. Follow the employer's requested file type. No template or keyword match guarantees acceptance by an applicant tracking system.
Use a cover letter for context
Explain why the role fits your documented experience using a few relevant examples. Avoid repeating the resume or claiming familiarity with an employer you have not researched.
