Sound Designer

Role Title: Sound Designer Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote micro1 is engaging Sound Designers to contribute expertise in an exciting AI training and data annotation project for a customer. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. Scope of Work • Review and assess video sessions featuring robotic arms completing real-world tasks, focusing on the audio component. • Edit and annotate audio tracks to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency for AI training purposes. • Restore audio quality by removing unwanted noise, distortion, and inconsistencies. • Provide detailed feedback and annotations regarding specific sounds, events, or anomalies within each video session. • Collaborate with project leads and fellow contributors to confirm annotation standards and resolve ambiguities. • Maintain meticulous records of all edits, annotations, and restoration activities for traceability. • Contribute to ongoing improvements in annotation protocols and project workflows as needed. Preferred Qualifications • Demonstrated expertise in sound design, sound editing, and audio restoration techniques. • Exceptional attention to detail, with a proven track record in identifying subtle audio nuances. • Familiarity with a variety of digital audio workstations and editing tools. • Experience working with real-world, non-music audio sources is a strong plus. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document observations and collaborate remotely. • Background in audio data annotation or similar technical review assignments is advantageous. • Ability to self-manage deliverables in a remote, project-based environment.
